About Us - Our Farm History and Operations

Vann Strawberry Farm, LLC, is a third-generation family-owned and operated business.

After having grown predominately traditional row crops for many years, in approximately 1999, we expanded our operations to include a commercial u-pick and pre-picked strawberry operation and Farm Market. Since that time, we have further expanded our farming operations to include other fruits and vegetables as well.

We currently grow the traditional row crops: peanuts and cotton. We also grow the following fruit and vegetable row crops: strawberries, watermelon, canteloupe, tomatoes, onions, yellow and zucchini squash, eggplant, and a variety of peppers. In our fruit orchard, we grow peaches, nectarines, and blackberries.

In addition to the many fruits, vegetables, and peanuts that we grow at Vann Farms, we also offer in our Farm Market fresh blueberries, mayhaws, garden peas, sweet corn, sweet potatoes and pecans grown on other nearby area farms.

Our strawberries and most of our vegetable crops are available for u-pick. All of our fruits, vegetables, and nuts are also available pre-picked in our Farm Market.

In addition to our retail customers, we have a large wholesale market. We will pack our fresh fruit and vegetables as requested by our customer.

Vann Farms grows and offers to the public a variety of seasonal u-pick flowers such as sunflowers, zinnias, and strawflowers. Upon request, we can grow specific flowers and herbs for our customers' special occasions such as weddings or other events.

We also offer delicious u-pick herbs, including parsley, basil, rosemary, chives, thyme, dill, mint, and nasturtium.

In addition to fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, flowers, and herbs, our Farm Market offers fresh homemade soft-serve ice cream and seasonal pies, freshly boiled peanuts, jams and jellies, syrups, relishes and salsas, pickles, barbeque sauces, and locally-gathered honey.

In the fall, we offer a selection of unique and beautiful hand-made wreaths, which incorporate plants and herbs grown on our Farm, as well as fresh pecans, pumpkins, decorative squash, and Indian corn. We also have a sorgham maze as well as a Giant Pumpkin Jumper for the kids.

During the Chrismas season, we offer a wide variety of freshly cut and potted Christmas trees, a variety of fresh greenery, and hand-made Christmas wreaths.

Our excellent staff is delighted to assist our customers in finding that perfect watermelon or other fruit or vegetable, or simply to answer questions about our farm/farm market operations. We are proud that a large portion of our business is comprised of "repeat customers" who return again and again to our farm, looking for yet another basket of perfect fruit or vegetables, or another cup of our delicious homemade ice cream.
